to be Cypriot
is to grow up a bit confused
to be unsure of who you are and what you believe
it is to be in the middle
na sou laloun oti eisai ellinas, jesi na rotas 'ma, giati?'
na sigxizoun tin xora sou me kapoian alli

alla to ti mas laloun ennen panta jino pou niothoume
to be Cypriot means to be told you're Greek, and ask 'why?'
it is for others to confuse your country with another
division being the only thing you know and have others remind you of it daily
when you tell people you're from Cyprus, they ask "which side are you from?"
it is to say "I do not forget", yet forget the half of it
but what we're told isn't always how we feel
